Shark Vacuums Overview

Shark’s DuoClean and Zero-M features show impressive results in our vacuum tests. DuoClean lets you vacuum large debris and fine dust on bare floors, such as hardwood or tile, and allowing you to seamlessly transition from bare floors to carpet.

Zero-M removes hair from the brushroll as you vacuum, which is handy for large families with pets. No need to get messy and cut it out yourself.

Dyson

Dyson is a leading innovator when it comes to cordless vacuums.  They have continued to focus on building a long-lasting, well-filtered, versatile, and effective cordless vacuum that can completely replace a full-size upright vacuum.

Shark and Dyson are close competitors and we think they both have their own strengths and weaknesses.

Bissell

Bissell is a well-known vacuum brand, and their vacuums are generally more affordable than the latest Dyson or Shark vacuums.

One of their most popular vacuums is the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser

Brush rolls that are resistant to hair build-up have become increasingly popular.  Shark’s new Zero-M technology is an example of this.

Miele

Miele has been making some of the best canister vacuums for decades.  They test their vacuums for up to 20 years of usage.  Planned obsolescence isn’t in their vocabulary.

Not only are they resilient, but their AirClean bag and filter system provides better-than-HEPA filtration.

They finally released their first bagless canister vacuums in the United States in 2018.

Hoover

Hoover created one of the most popular stick vacuums that was incredibly affordable, the Hoover Linx.

The Linx is showing its age, however, with more versatile and feature-packed cordless stick vacuums from Shark and Dyson taking majority of the market.

Hoover also offers upright vacuum and carpet cleaners.
